This is no small matter, as the ability to understand a new technology is directly related to how well the concepts can be comprehended and used by people to do their jobs. One could argue that a large impetus to the recent success of business processing technologies is the introduction and uptake of the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). nThis talk describes an analogous notation targeted at semantic domain modeling. We will show how a complex ontology (classes, properties, etc) and ontology instances can be represented in a visual notation, both in static form and for dynamic discovery and navigation. It is the intent of this talk to socialize the idea of a standard ontology modeling notation, with the ultimate goal of unifying the semantic community behind such a standard.
